J. Polonsky
Jonny Polonsky is an eclectic singer/songwriter known for his ability to craft smart pop melodies and embrace a variety of musical styles, including hard rock and roots rock. Born on July 10, 1973, in Wilmette, Illinois, Polonsky began his musical journey in his childhood, writing songs and performing under the moniker "the Amazing Jonny Polonsky." His talent caught the attention of Frank Black, who produced a demo tape for him and helped him secure a manager. This led to a record deal with American Records in 1995, and the release of his debut album, "Hi My Name Is Jonny," in 1996. Despite the album's initial success, Polonsky faced a setback when American lost its distribution deal.

After a period without a label, Polonsky released the "There Is Something Wrong with You" EP in 2001 through eggBERT, followed by "The Power of Sound" in 2004. During this time, he toured with Audioslave and formed a band called Big Nose with their rhythm section, collaborating with Maynard James Keenan on Puscifer projects. Polonsky also worked as a studio musician with producer Rick Rubin, contributing to albums by artists such as Johnny Cash, the Dixie Chicks, and Neil Diamond.

In 2015, Polonsky released "The Other Side of Midnight," his first solo album in over a decade, and continued his musical exploration with "Fresh Flesh" in 2018. His career is marked by collaborations with a diverse range of artists, showcasing his versatility and enduring presence in the music industry.
