José Ramos
José Ramos Santana, a native of Puerto Rico, is a highly acclaimed pianist renowned for his mastery of Spanish music. He is the founder and artistic director of the Puerto Rico International Piano Festival. Ramos Santana has performed as a guest soloist with prestigious orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London, and Detroit Symphony, among others. His international solo performances have spanned continents, featuring appearances with the Moscow Philharmonic and orchestras in Guatemala, San Salvador, and Lima, Peru.

Ramos Santana has collaborated with distinguished musicians and conductors such as Krzysztof Penderecki, John Adams, and Vladimir Viardo. His performances at Carnegie Hall, Zankel Hall, and the Weill Recital Hall have been highly praised. A top prize winner of the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, he has participated in numerous music festivals worldwide.

An established recording artist, Ramos Santana's world premiere of "Glosas" by Roberto Sierra and recordings with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra have received critical acclaim. He has also recorded the complete works for piano and violin by Xavier Montsalvatge with violinist Eva Leon.

A graduate of the Juilliard School, Ramos Santana studied under Adele Marcus and others, and has coached with Leon Fleisher and Alicia de Larrocha. He is a member of the piano faculty at New York University Steinhardt School and The Catholic University of America, and teaches at the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C. He is also a Steinway Artist and has served as a jury member for several international piano competitions.
