Fritz Rotter
Fritz Rotter was born on March 3, 1900, in Vienna, Austro-Hungarian Empire, and passed away on April 11, 1984, in Ascona, Switzerland. He was a distinguished Austrian writer and composer. During the Weimar Republic, Rotter, along with his brother Alfred, owned several theaters in Berlin. However, due to his Jewish heritage, he was compelled to emigrate following the rise of the Nazi regime in 1933. He relocated to the United States, where he adopted the alias M. Rotha ('Mausie Rotha') for his writing endeavors.

Rotter's career was marked by significant contributions to both theater and film. His selected filmography includes works such as "The Wonderful Lies of Nina Petrovna" (1929), "When the White Lilacs Bloom Again" (1929), and "Love in the Ring" (1930). He was also known for his popular song lyrics, including hits like "Veronika, der Lenz ist da" and "Wenn der weisse Flieder wieder blüht." Over his career, he penned approximately 1200 song lyrics.

Fritz Rotter spent his later years in Switzerland, continuing to influence the music and film industries through various projects from the 1930s to the 1960s. His legacy is preserved through his extensive body of work and his impact on the cultural landscape of his time.
