Larry Conley
Larry Conley was an American songwriter, composer, trombonist, and bandleader, born on November 29, 1895, in Keithsburg, Illinois. He passed away on February 29, 1960, in Lindenhurst, New York. Conley was a notable figure in the music scene, particularly remembered for his collaboration with Willard Robison on the song "A Cottage For Sale," written in 1929. Throughout his career, he was involved with various musical groups, including Sgt. Larry Conley's Jazz Band, Jack Gardner's Orchestra, and Gene Rodemich and His Orchestra, among others.

Conley was a talented trombonist who played in dance orchestras and became a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) in 1927. His songwriting credits include popular songs such as "Summer Holiday," "Easy Melody," "My Sweetheart," "I Guess There's an End to Everything," "My Love for You," "Dim the Harbor Lights," and "Cryin' for the Moon." His work was recorded by several orchestras and bands, contributing significantly to the jazz and dance band music of his time.
