Arthur Swanstrom
Arthur Mouday Swanstrom, born on August 4, 1888, in Brooklyn, NY, was a multifaceted American lyricist, composer, and producer. He was the son of J. Edward Swanstrom, a notable lawyer and politician. Arthur began his career as a ballroom dancer, performing in nightclubs and vaudeville. He transitioned into a successful career as a lyricist, notably working with John Murray Anderson on The Greenwich Village Follies from 1919 to 1921. Swanstrom became a prominent figure in Tin Pan Alley, contributing to popular songs like "Blues My Naughty Sweetie Gives to Me" (1919) and "Twenty-Four Hours A Day" (1935), often collaborating with Carey Morgan.

In addition to songwriting, Swanstrom produced and wrote lyrics for Broadway productions such as Sons O' Guns (1929) and Princess Charming (1930), and authored both the lyrics and book for the musical Sea Legs (1937). Despite his professional success, Swanstrom faced ill health and financial difficulties later in life. He passed away from a stroke on October 4, 1940, in Scarsdale, NY, at the age of 52.
