Hans Lang
Hans Lang was an Austrian composer born on July 5, 1908, in Vienna, where he also passed away on January 28, 1992. Renowned for his contributions to light music, film scores, and traditional Viennese songs, Lang's career was marked by a prolific output in the mid-20th century. He composed the operetta "Lisa, benimm dich!" which premiered in 1939. Lang's film music credits include "Lumpaci the Vagabond" (1936), "Der Hofrat Geiger" (1947), and "Mariandl" (1961), among others. He frequently collaborated with lyricist Erich Meder and was known for singing some of his compositions alongside Maria Andergast. Lang also worked under various pseudonyms and was associated with groups such as Das Wiener Filmorchester. His legacy includes a rich discography of Viennese songs and soundtracks that continue to be celebrated.
