Harry Jentes
Harry Jentes (1887-1958) was an American vaudeville performer and composer known for his contributions to popular music in the early 20th century. Born and died in New York City, Jentes made a significant impact in the ragtime genre with compositions such as "The Rhapsody Rag" (1911), "The Soup and Fish Rag" (1913, co-authored with Pete Wendling), and "Bantam Step" (1916). Among his most recognized songs is "I Don't Want To Get Well" (1917), which gained popularity during its time. In the 1920s, Jentes also recorded several piano rolls, showcasing his musical talents. His works were published by various music companies, and he collaborated with lyricists like Howard E. Johnson and Fred Fisher to create memorable pieces.
