Benny De Weille
Benny de Weille, born on March 6, 1915, in Lübeck, Germany, was a prominent German swing jazz clarinetist and bandleader. He studied clarinet under Hans Helmke and was notably influenced by the legendary Benny Goodman, whose style he often emulated. During the 1930s and 1940s, de Weille made recordings with well-known musicians such as Teddy Stauffer, Hans Rehmstedt, and Willy Berking. In 1940, he began leading his own ensemble, the "Bar Trio." After World War II, he worked at Radio Frankfurt and conducted the Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk orchestra. His last known recordings, produced in 1951, were in the Dixieland style. Benny de Weille passed away on December 17, 1977, in Westerland, Germany.
