Werner Bochmann
Werner Bochmann was a prominent German composer born on May 17, 1900, in Meerane, Saxony, Germany. Initially studying chemistry in Dresden, Bochmann's passion for music led him to study under Gustav Mraczek and Frank Schreker, and later piano under Weinreich in Leipzig. His early career involved working as an accompanist for choirs in Dresden and Naples, and he also played piano for silent films in Munich.

Bochmann's breakthrough in film music came in 1934 with his score for "Die Insel." During the 1930s and 1940s, he was under contract with Universum AG (Ufa films), where he composed music for numerous films, including popular wartime movies like "Wunschkonzert" (1940), "Quax, der Bruchpilot" (1941), and "Fronttheater" (1942). Throughout his career, he composed music for over 120 films.

He was known for leading his own Tango orchestra and made recordings for Columbia, featuring his notable discovery, actress and singer Ilse Werner. After World War II, Bochmann settled in Schliersee, Bavaria, where he continued his successful career until his death on June 3, 1993. His work extended to film scores, opera, ballet, and popular songs, establishing him as an influential figure in German music.
