Albert Willemetz
Albert Willemetz (14 February 1887 – 7 October 1964) was a renowned French lyricist, librettist, and screenwriter. Born in Paris, Willemetz was a prolific creator, credited with writing over 3000 songs, more than 100 musicals, and over 100 revues. He was instrumental in developing a new style of musical that was both humorous and "sexy." Some of his most famous songs include "Mon homme" (popularized in English as "My Man"), "Valentine," and "Dans la vie faut pas s'en faire."

Willemetz collaborated with many notable musicians of his time, such as André Messager, Maurice Yvain, and Arthur Honegger. His lyrics were performed by celebrated artists including Maurice Chevalier, Mistinguett, Billie Holiday, and Barbra Streisand.

In addition to his artistic achievements, Willemetz served as Secretary to Clemenceau and was the Director of the Théâtre des Bouffes Parisiens for 30 years. He also held significant roles as President of the French Society of Authors, Composers, and Publishers of Music (SACEM) from 1945 and the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) from 1956, making him the only president of both organizations who could not read music. Willemetz passed away in Marnes-la-Coquette, near Paris.
