Maurice Sigler
Maurice Sigler (November 30, 1901 – February 6, 1961) was an American banjoist and songwriter. Born in New York City, Sigler moved to Birmingham, Alabama, at an early age where he received his musical education. In the 1920s, he was a member of Jack Linx's Birmingham-based band and participated in field trip recordings in Atlanta for Okeh Records between 1924 and 1927. During this period, he also recorded as the leader of "Sigler's Birmingham Merrymakers."

In the 1930s, Sigler transitioned to songwriting, penning lyrics for songs such as "I Saw Stars," "Everything's In Rhythm With My Heart," and "Everything Stops For Tea," collaborating with Al Goodhart and Al Hoffman. He also co-wrote "Little Man, You've Had A Busy Day" with Al Hoffman and Mabel Wayne, and "Lolly Lolly Loo" with David Mann. From 1934 to 1937, Sigler lived in England, contributing to stage shows and films, including songs for the 1935 Jack Hylton feature "She Shall Have Music." Maurice Sigler passed away in Flushing, Queens, in 1961.
