Mann Curtis, born Emanuel Kurtz on November 15, 1911, in Brooklyn, NY, was an influential American songwriter known for his prolific contributions to music. Over his career, he wrote the lyrics for more than 250 songs, achieving significant success with 34 charting hits in the U.S. His first charting song appeared in 1936, and his influence continued with his last charting song in 2000. Among his most notable achievements was the #1 hit "My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time" in 1945, performed by Les Brown and His Orchestra, which he co-wrote with Vic Mizzy. This song also reached #3 in versions by Johnny Long and His Orchestra and the Phil Moore Four.
