Eddie Brunner
Eduard "Eddie" Brunner was born on July 19, 1912, in Zürich, Switzerland, and passed away on July 18, 1960, in the same city. He was a prominent Swiss jazz reedist and bandleader known for his skills on the clarinet, piano, and both tenor and alto saxophones. Brunner began his professional music career in the early 1930s, performing with notable musicians such as Rene Dumont, Jack and Louis de Vries, and Marek Weber.

In 1936, Brunner moved to Paris, where he recorded under his own name and collaborated with the Goldene Sieben and Louis Bacon. With the onset of World War II, he returned to Switzerland and joined Teddy Stauffer's band. In 1941, Brunner took over leadership of the group, maintaining this role until the band's dissolution in 1947. Subsequently, he formed a new six-piece ensemble in 1948 and continued to make recordings for radio and television throughout the 1950s, contributing significantly to the Swiss jazz scene.
