Dorothy Terris
Dorothy Terriss, born Alfreda Theodora Strandberg on July 11, 1883, in Brooklyn, New York, was a prominent American lyricist associated with the Tin Pan Alley collective. She often collaborated with her husband, Theodore Morse, forming a successful songwriting team. Terriss was known for using various pseudonyms, including Dolly Morse and D.A. Esrom. Throughout her career, she wrote lyrics for other notable composers such as Julian Robledo and Paul Whiteman. Her work spanned several decades, with recordings of her songs dating from 1917 to 1947. Dorothy Terriss passed away on November 10, 1953, in White Plains, New York.
