Harry Bache Smith (December 28, 1860 – January 1, 1936) was a prolific American writer, lyricist, and composer, renowned for his contributions to musical theatre. Born in Buffalo, New York, Smith was the son of Josiah Bailey Smith and Elizabeth Bach. Over his career, he penned more than 300 librettos and over 6000 lyrics, collaborating with composers like Victor Herbert and Reginald De Koven. Some of his notable works include librettos for the Ziegfeld Follies and operettas such as "Robin Hood" (1890) and "The Fortune Teller" (1898).

Smith's personal life saw him marrying twice; first to Lena Reed, with whom he had a son, and later to actress Irene Bentley.
