Joseph Winner
Joseph Eastburn Winner (April 21, 1836 – November 4, 1918) was an American composer and music publisher, renowned for his composition "The Little Brown Jug" (1869). Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Winner operated a music publishing business in his hometown from 1854 until 1907. He occasionally published works under the pseudonym R. A. Eastburn. Between 1845 and 1854, he collaborated with his brother, Septimus Winner, also a composer, in the music publishing industry. Joseph Winner's life concluded in Philadelphia, and he was interred at Lawnview Cemetery in Rockledge, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, after initially being buried at Monument Cemetery in Philadelphia.
