Paul Denniker
Paul Denniker, born Paul Albert Dehnicke on May 30, 1897, in London, England, was a notable composer, songwriter, and lyricist who made significant contributions to the jazz and popular music scene from the 1920s through the 1940s. He moved to the United States in 1919, settling in New York City, where he became an active figure in the Tin Pan Alley music publishing scene.

Denniker is perhaps best known for his collaborations with lyricist Andy Razaf, with whom he created several popular songs of the era. One of their most enduring works is "S'posin'," a jazz standard that was recorded by artists such as Miles Davis and Rudy Vallee. Denniker's work was characterized by its reflection of the musical trends of his time, including jazz and Hawaiian music, as seen in songs like "Hawaiian Starlight."

Throughout his career, Denniker worked with a variety of other songwriters, including Don Redman, Joe Davis, Will Osborne, and Edwin Gilbert. His compositions were often recorded by prominent jazz and dance bands of the time, contributing to the vibrant musical landscape of the early 20th century.

Paul Denniker passed away in 1947, leaving behind a legacy of music that captured the spirit and evolution of American popular music during his lifetime.
