Enrique Velasco
Enrique Velasco is a distinguished Mexican guitarist born in 1946 in Mexico City. He pursued his musical studies at the National School of Music of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (ENM-UNAM) and further honed his skills under the tutelage of Manuel López Ramos at the Estudio de Arte Guitarrístico. Alongside his musical education, Velasco also graduated as a public accountant from the Universidad del Valle de México.

Velasco's career as a concert guitarist has seen him perform in numerous cities across Mexico and internationally in countries such as Bulgaria, Costa Rica, the United States, France, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, and Tunisia. He has performed as a soloist with prestigious orchestras including the Sinfónica de Guatemala, the Chamber Orchestra of Cremona, and the Chamber Orchestra of Washington.

In addition to his performance career, Velasco has contributed to music education by giving master classes and lectures in Guatemala, Poland, Puerto Rico, and Russia. He has served as a professor of guitar at the Faculty of Music of the Universidad Veracruzana, where he was also the director from 1981 to 1986. Velasco has recorded several solo albums, further establishing his reputation in the classical guitar community.

Throughout his career, Velasco has been recognized with numerous awards, including the First Prize at the National Guitar Competition and the designation as Concertist of the Year by the Union of Theater and Music Critics. His performances have graced prestigious venues such as the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the F. Chopin Auditorium in Warsaw, the IILA in Rome, the UNESCO Auditorium in Paris, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., as well as major venues throughout Mexico.
