Dudana Mazmanishvili
Dudana Mazmanishvili is a critically acclaimed Georgian pianist known for her lyrical gifts and exceptional virtuosity. She has performed works by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Prokofiev, and Schumann on stages worldwide. Mazmanishvili has garnered several prestigious awards, including the Busoni Competition in Italy, the August Everding Prize in Munich, the Dorothy MacKenzie Award in New York City, and the Nadia Reisenberg Award, which led to her New York City recital debut at Merkin Hall.
Mazmanishvili made her Carnegie Hall debut at Zankel Hall, receiving praise for her "staggeringly virtuosic and powerful" performance. She has performed at renowned venues like Vienna’s Musikverein, Konzerthaus Berlin, and the Salle-Cortot in Paris, among others. Her collaborations include performances with the Bach Collegium Orchestra, Georgian Symphony Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, and Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie.
Born into a musical family, Mazmanishvili began piano lessons at age three with her mother, Tamar Apakidze. She pursued further studies at the Munich Hochschule under Elisso Virsaladze and at the Mannes School of Music in New York City with Jerome Rose. Her debut recital at Klavierfestival Ruhr was broadcast by Deutschlandfunk, and she has been featured in projects like the arte project Hope@Home and a solidarity concert for Ukraine in 2022.
Mazmanishvili is also a diplomat, a member of the European Cultural Parliament, and the founder of the Tbilisi Piano Fest. Her recordings include a debut recital disc for the OEHMS label and a CD of Schumann's works for CUGATE CLASSICS. Her recent performances include debuts at the Berliner Philharmonie and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. Her pianism is noted for balancing the virtuosity of the Russian School with the intellectual discipline of classicism.
