Leo Friedman
Leo Friedman (July 16, 1869 - March 7, 1927) was an American composer of popular music, born in Elgin, Illinois, and passed away in Chicago, Illinois. He is most renowned for composing the sentimental waltz "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" in 1910, with lyrics by Beth Slater Whitson. Another notable composition by Friedman is "Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland." Additionally, he wrote the music for the popular ragtime song "Coon, Coon, Coon" in 1900, with lyrics added by Gene Jefferson in 1901. This song was claimed to be the most successful song of 1901 and was published and promoted by Sol Bloom, known as "the Music Man" of Chicago.
