Frank Perry
Frank Perry is a pioneering musician and composer known for his work as an improvising percussionist and expert in Tibetan singing bowls. His musical journey began in April 1964, during his last term at a boys' school in St John’s Wood, London. Inspired by the nonconformity of the Rolling Stones and initially interested in guitar, Perry found his calling in drumming after a fellow student introduced him to the basics. His talent quickly developed, leading him to join a Rhythm & Blues band called The Abstract Sounds and later a Chicago Blues band, Black Cat Bones, featuring Paul Kossoff.

Perry's style was too "jazzy" for Black Cat Bones, prompting his transition to jazz and free-form group improvisation. He collaborated with top improvisers like Chris McGregor and Dudu Pukwana, forming groups such as Ovary Lodge and Balance. His solo career began in 1971, allowing him to explore spiritual objectives through creativity and sacred instruments. Perry's discography includes albums like "Deep Peace" and "New Atlantis," featuring instruments he invented, such as Petalumines. By 1986, he recorded enough material for ten albums, contributing to a prolific career with around 60 releases to date.
