Marvin P. Dalton
Marvin P. Dalton was an American singer and songwriter born on March 9, 1906, in Arkansas, USA, and passed away on November 28, 1987, in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, USA. He is best known for his contributions to Southern gospel music, particularly the song "O What a Savior," which he wrote in 1948. The song was first recorded by the Original Stamps Quartet in January 1950 and became widely known after being included in the Blackwood Brothers' collection "Sunday Meeting Songs" in 1957. Dalton's works gained popularity in the 1940s and 1950s, and he is also recognized for the hymn "Looking for a City." His music has been recorded by numerous artists and continues to be celebrated in the gospel music community.
