Chen Chuan, born in 1985 in Changchun, Jilin Province, China, is a distinguished classical guitarist and teacher. He began playing guitar at the age of 8, guided by his father, Chen Xuhong, a renowned guitar teacher in Jilin. In 1995, he became a student of Professor Chen Zhi at the Central Conservatory of Music in China, further honing his skills.

Chen Chuan is a classical guitar teacher at the Central Conservatory of Music and a virtuoso with the Zhilong Guitar Chamber Orchestra. He has achieved significant success internationally, securing second place in the 5th Vienna International Guitar Competition and winning the 4th Hong Kong International Guitar Competition. He also claimed the top award in the Chamber Music Group at the 19th Osaka International Music Competition in Japan.

His performances span across Germany, Vienna, the United States, South Korea, Malaysia, and various cities in China, both as a soloist and in ensembles. Chen has collaborated with prestigious orchestras, including the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the China Philharmonic Orchestra, and has worked with eminent conductors like Joji Hattori and Russell Harris.

Beyond performance, Chen Chuan is dedicated to education. At the Central Conservatory of Music, he teaches classical guitar and chamber music, and he has developed a chamber music column for the school's online platform. He also serves as the artistic director for a children's chamber orchestra at Legu Music Culture Industry, promoting chamber music as a tool for enhancing children's musical education. In 2018, he led his students to victory at the JUAN CRISOSTOMO DE ARRIAGA International Junior Guitar Competition in Spain.
