Leo Watson
Leo Watson (February 27, 1898 – May 2, 1950) was an American jazz vocalese singer, drummer, trombonist, and tiple player born in Kansas City, Missouri. He is best remembered as a member of The Spirits of Rhythm, a small group that included guitarist Teddy Bunn. Watson also worked briefly with big bands led by Gene Krupa, Artie Shaw, and Jimmy Mundy. Additionally, he provided the uncredited voice for Prince Chawmin' in the 1943 cartoon "Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs," directed by Bob Clampett. Due to a contractual issue with primary voice artist Mel Blanc, Watson's contribution went uncredited for many years until it was correctly identified by Australian voice artist and animation historian Keith Scott.
