Blackstones
The Blackstones are a reggae vocal trio from London, England, formed in 1974. The original line-up consisted of brothers Leon, Byron, and Neville Leiffer. They gained early success with the single "We Nah Go Suffer," which topped the British reggae chart. This success led to collaborations with producer Phil Pratt and the release of their debut album, "Insight," in 1979.

In 1983, the group's line-up changed to include Leon Leiffer, Tony Douglas, and Ken Kendricks. Their album "Take Another Look at Love" also topped the reggae albums chart. The Blackstones contributed to the British Reggae Artists Famine Appeal charity single "Let’s Make Africa Green Again" in 1985. They continued to release reggae chart hits throughout the mid-1980s.

By 2004, the group had undergone further changes, with Leon Leiffer joined by Tony Mahoney and Junior Bailey. They recorded the album "Tribute to Studio One" with the legendary Clement "Coxsone" Dodd shortly before his death. Since 2019, The Blackstones have been a quartet with members Leon Leiffer, Tony Mahoney, Junior Bailey, and AJ Franklin.

The Blackstones have released several albums over the decades, including "Silhouettes" (1995), "Unlimited" (2000), "Greater Power" (2006), and "Got What It Takes" (2019). Their enduring popularity, particularly among Jamaican fans, underscores their significant contribution to the reggae genre.
