Errol Moore
Errol Moore, born on November 9, 1961, in Whitfield Town, Kingston, Jamaica, is a renowned reggae singer, composer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is notably recognized as the father of actor-singer Shameik Moore. Errol's musical journey began after moving to Brooklyn, New York, in 1972, where he joined the reggae band Monyaka. As a founding member, he contributed significantly to the band's success, writing, arranging, and producing several of their popular songs. Monyaka, originally known as the Soul Supersonics, was instrumental in establishing the Brooklyn reggae sound and backed numerous reggae stars.
Errol pursued his education at Erasmus Hall High School and later earned a degree in music from the City University of New York (CUNY) in 1981. In 1989, he founded Island Gruve Music Works, his own recording studio and production company. Throughout his career, Errol has released several albums, including "A Long Way" (2022) and "Good Morning Jah" (2015), and singles like "Karma" (2021) and "Rastafarian Souldier" (2021).
