Gori Women’s Choir
Gori Women's Choir is a renowned choral ensemble founded in 1970 at the Gori School of Music in Gori, Shida Kartli, Georgia. The choir is composed of female members aged between fifteen and thirty-five, who either study at the School or teach at the region's schools and colleges of music. Led by conductor Shalva Mosidze, who studied choral conducting at the conservatory in Tbilisi, the choir is celebrated for its dynamic vocal range, transitioning seamlessly from gentle piano to powerful fortissimo.

The choir's repertoire spans from the Renaissance to contemporary works, with a strong focus on modern Georgian composers such as Yosif Ketchakhmadze and Otar Taktakishvili. They serve as a vital platform for these composers, whose works are rarely performed in Western concert halls. Additionally, the choir maintains connections with composers from other former Soviet states and occasionally performs Georgian folk songs, though their primary focus remains on modern and contemporary Georgian music.

Gori Women's Choir gained international recognition through collaborations with Georgian-British artist Katie Melua, featuring in her albums "In Winter" (2016) and other projects, showcasing their exceptional vocal talents to a broader audience.
