Claus Norreen
Claus Norreen, born on June 5, 1970, in Charlottenlund, Denmark, is a Danish musician, songwriter, and record producer renowned for his role in the pop band Aqua. Aqua achieved global fame with their hit "Barbie Girl" and sold approximately 33 million records worldwide. Norreen's musical journey began with a passion for electropop and industrial techno, which led him to purchase a keyboard and explore these genres. After completing his education, he worked in his sister's clothing store, an experience that influenced his musical style. In 1989, he met Søren Rasted, which marked the beginning of his significant musical collaborations.
Norreen was a key member of Aqua from its inception until his departure in September 2016, when he decided to pursue other musical ventures. Despite leaving the band, he maintained a close relationship with its members, considering them like family. Throughout his career, Norreen contributed to Aqua's albums such as "Aquarium" (1997), "Aquarius" (2000), and "Megalomania" (2011). He also worked on various singles and remixes under different aliases, including Aeroflot and Danny Red.
In his personal life, Claus Norreen married Danish journalist Siggy Madsen in 2001, and they have a son named Elliott, born in February 2003. The couple has since separated. Norreen is recognized as one of Denmark's prominent musicians, with a net worth estimated at $5 million.
