Giuseppe Amoruso
Giuseppe Amoruso, known professionally as Joe Amoruso, was an Italian pianist, keyboardist, and composer born in 1960 in Boscotrecase, Italy. He was a prominent figure in the music scene, particularly noted for his long-standing collaboration with Pino Daniele as a member of his group. Amoruso was celebrated for his contributions to the international music genre and was involved in various projects throughout his career, including composing for artists like Dalida and Boney M.
Tragically, Amoruso's life was marked by a significant health challenge when he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage during a concert in 2017. Despite the care provided by his family, including his brother Arturo, Amoruso passed away in March 2020 at the age of 60 at the Ospedale del Mare in Naples. His death was a significant loss to the music community, as he was regarded as a "super pianist" and a beloved "musical brother" by peers such as Tullio De Piscopo, James Senese, and Tony Esposito.
