Georges Auric
Georges Auric (1899-1983) was a prominent French composer, associated with the avant-garde classical music scene in the early 20th century. He was a member of the influential French musical collective known as Les Six, which sought to move away from the heavy influence of German Romanticism and Impressionism in music. Auric initially gained recognition as an avant-garde composer but is best remembered today for his significant contributions to film music. His work in the film industry helped to establish his reputation as a versatile and innovative composer.
