Julián Robledo
Julián Robledo (1887–1940) was a notable composer, born in Ávila, Castilla y León, Spain. He emigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the early 1900s, where he became an influential figure in the tango music scene. Robledo played piano in various tango orchestras and was involved with some of the most renowned orchestras of his time, including the orquesta típica of Genaro Espósito. His tango "Ya vengo" was the first recording by Espósito's orchestra under the Victor record label in 1912. Other tangos composed by Robledo include "La Pianola," "Golf," and "Chirulote."

Robledo is best known for the song "Three O'Clock in the Morning," composed in 1919, which gained immense popularity after lyrics were added by Dorothy Terriss in 1921. The song was performed in the Greenwich Village Follies of 1921 in New York and recorded by Paul Whiteman in 1922, achieving sales of over 3.5 million copies of the record and over 1 million copies of the sheet music.

In Buenos Aires, Robledo was active in advocating for musicians' rights and was a spokesperson for the "Federación de Profesores de Música" and a founder of the "Comisión de Defensa de los Derechos de Autor." Julián Robledo passed away in Buenos Aires in 1940.
