Armando Orefiche
Armando Oréfiche was a Cuban composer and pianist born on June 5, 1911, in Havana, Cuba. He became well-known in the mid-20th century for his contributions to Cuban music. Oréfiche was a member of the Lecuona Cuban Boys, a popular band, from 1935 to 1938. He later led his own band, Armando Oréfiche and his Havana Cuban Boys, which was a ballroom rumba band that performed until the 1980s. After the band dissolved, Oréfiche continued his musical career as a pianist at the five-star Hotel Reina Isabel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He passed away in December 2000 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
