Irving Taylor
Irving Taylor (April 8, 1914 – December 3, 1983) was an American composer, lyricist, and screenwriter, born Irving Goldberg in Brooklyn, New York. A member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) from a young age, Taylor enlisted in the US Navy the day after the Attack on Pearl Harbor, where he collaborated with Vic Mizzy to create entertainment for military personnel. Post-war, he transitioned to writing and producing for television, working on shows like The Carmen Cavallero Show and The Freddy Martin Show.

In the late 1950s, Taylor crafted novelty albums for Warner Bros., including "Terribly Sophisticated Songs," which featured the hit "Pachalafaka," and "The Garbage Collector in Beverly Hills." His work often parodied popular music genres, with arrangements by Henry Mancini. Taylor also founded Kiss Music Co., a publishing company named after his family members.

Taylor's notable songs include "Everybody Loves Somebody," famously recorded by Dean Martin, and "(Everybody's Waitin' for) The Man with the Bag." He passed away in Westlake Village, California, and is buried at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
