Jules Taub
Jules Taub, born Julius Jeramiah Bihari on September 9, 1913, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, was an influential figure in the American music industry. He was one of the four Bihari brothers who founded Modern Records in Los Angeles in 1945, a pivotal label in the development of blues and R&B music. Jules Taub was actually a pseudonym used by Jules Bihari primarily for the purpose of claiming songwriting royalties. This practice was common in the industry at the time, although it is doubtful that Bihari actually co-composed many of the songs credited to Taub, particularly those by artists like B.B. King. The use of this pseudonym allowed for a significant portion of songwriting royalties to be diverted from the actual artists. Jules Bihari passed away on November 17, 1984, in Los Angeles, California.
