Hugo Steurer
Hugo Steurer (1914–2004) was a German pianist and teacher. He made his debut in 1934 and was esteemed as one of Germany's leading interpreters of Ludwig van Beethoven's piano music. Between 1953 and 1958, Steurer taught at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, and later at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. His notable pupils included Homero Francesch, Gerhard Oppitz, Yaara Tal, Heinz Rögner, Michael Endres, and Annerose Schmidt.
