Aldona Dvarionaitė
Aldona Dvarionaitė (born May 18, 1939, in Kaunas – died November 5, 2000, in Vilnius) was a distinguished Lithuanian pianist and educator. She was the daughter of Balys Dvarionas and Aldona Dvarionienė, and had a brother named Jurgis Dvarionas. Dvarionaitė pursued her musical education at the Vilnius Ten-Year Music School under the tutelage of Mariam Azizbekova. In 1962, she graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, where she studied in the class of Stanislav Neuhaus, and completed her postgraduate studies there in 1966. After her studies, she moved to Poland in 1962 and intermittently taught at the Lithuanian Conservatory. Dvarionaitė's repertoire included works by Frederic Chopin, as evidenced by her 2013 release "Frederic Chopin: Selected works for piano." Her legacy is marked by her contributions to Lithuanian music both as a performer and as a teacher.
