Andreas Donauer
Andreas Donauer, known by his stage name Donikkl, is a renowned German producer, musician, composer, lyricist, and educator born in 1976 in Kelheim. He is celebrated for his contributions to contemporary children's music, often presented in a pop rock format. Donikkl gained widespread recognition with his hit song "So a schöner Tag (Fliegerlied)," which he wrote in 2002. The song became a popular hit in 2008, reaching the single charts and earning several gold records and music awards. It has been covered in various languages and became a staple at festivals, including the Munich Oktoberfest.
Donikkl's work is characterized by its cross-genre appeal with a focus on empowering children. He has been honored with several awards, including the Multikulturellen Liedpreis from WDR and Funkhaus Europa, the Bavarian State Prize for Music, and the 2010 Cultural Prize of the Kelheim district. From 2012 to 2016, he served as an official children's climate ambassador for the Bavarian Ministry of the Environment.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Donikkl is a lecturer in "Music and Movement" at the Musikakademie Schloss Alteglofsheim and holds the title of "Ambassador of Lower Bavaria." He also runs his label, Donikkl-Productions, which produces music albums, audiobooks like "Donikkls kleine Monster," textiles, books, video clips, and commissioned works. His label received the Eyes & Ears Award in 2012 for producing the TOGGO-Song for Super RTL.
Donikkl is known for his engaging live performances, often conducting interactive concerts for children and families. Although he now focuses more on studio productions, his Donikkl Crew continues to perform under his guidance, offering participatory concerts for young audiences.
