Tony Renis
Elio Cesari, known by his stage name Tony Renis, was born on May 13, 1938, in Milan, Italy. He is a renowned Italian singer, composer, music producer, and film actor. Renis began his music career in the mid-1950s when he teamed up with Adriano Celentano to perform impressions of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. In 1958, he signed with Combo Records and released several cover versions of Italian and American rock 'n' roll songs as the lead vocalist of the band Combos. Renis made his debut at the Sanremo Music Festival in 1961 with the song "Pozzanghere." He gained international fame in 1962 when he returned to the Sanremo Music Festival with a song that brought him widespread recognition. Throughout his career, Renis has been associated with several record labels, including Combo Record, RCA Italiana, and Warner Bros., and has been active in the music industry from 1958 to 2004.
