Bepin De Marzi
Giuseppe "Bepi" De Marzi, born on May 28, 1935, in Arzignano, Italy, is a renowned Italian composer, conductor, and organist. He spent the majority of his life in Arzignano before relocating to Vicenza in 2015. De Marzi's career in music education includes teaching musical education at a middle school in Valdagno and serving as a master of organ and composition at the Istituto Comunale "Canneti" in Vicenza, which is affiliated with the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello of Venice. He also taught at diocesan seminars in Vicenza.

De Marzi is perhaps best known for founding and directing the male choral group "I Crodaioli" in Arzignano. Through this ensemble, he has composed over a hundred works inspired by popular themes, with "Signore delle cime" being one of his most famous pieces, widely performed and translated into various languages. He collaborated with poet Carlo Geminiani on several songs that have become part of the alpine tradition, and with Mario Rigoni Stern on the piece "Volano le bianche," which reflects on the war at Ortigara.

In addition to his choral compositions, De Marzi has published educational music for young children and liturgical songs with texts by poet Don Giovanni Costantini. He has also contributed as a writer and essayist, particularly through journalistic pieces in the Giornale di Vicenza and has been active in giving lectures on musical and cultural topics.

In recognition of his contributions to music and culture, Bepi De Marzi was appointed a Commendatore of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by President Sergio Mattarella in March 2018.
