Daniel Zaretsky
Daniel Zaretsky, born in Leningrad in 1964, is a distinguished Russian organist and pianist. He completed his studies at the Leningrad State Conservatory under Professors Eduard Bazanov and Nina Oksentjan, earning his Concert Diploma and Teaching Certificate in 1989. Furthering his education, he studied at the Kazan State Conservatory with Professor Rubin Abdullin and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki under Professor Kari Jussila, graduating with honors.

Zaretsky has been active in the concert scene since 1986, performing across the former Soviet Union and internationally in Europe, the USA, Israel, Australia, and South America. He has participated in numerous master classes with renowned Western European organists and has been a prize-winner at several prestigious competitions, including the All-Russian Open Competition of Organists in 1991 and the International Competition of Organists in Germany.

His career includes a decade as the organist at the St. Petersburg Academic Shostakovich Philharmonic (1997-2007) and teaching positions at the Nizhny Novgorod State Glinka Conservatoire and St. Petersburg State University. Since 2011, he has led the Faculty of Organ and Harpsichord at the St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire. Zaretsky has recorded seven CDs and served on juries for international competitions.

Recognized for his contributions to music, Daniel Zaretsky was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia in 2006. His expertise extends to organ consultancy, focusing on the restoration of historical instruments and the construction of new organs. His students have achieved significant success in competitions, reflecting his influence as an educator.
