Wolfgang Roloff
Wolfgang Roloff, known by his stage name Ronny, was a German schlager singer, composer, and producer born on March 10, 1930, in Bremen, where he also passed away on August 18, 2011. After completing his education, Roloff trained as a sound engineer. In 1954, he became a member of the 'Valerie Trios' alongside Valerie Hueck and Wolfgang "Eddy" Börner. Following Hueck's departure, Roloff and Börner continued as a duo, recording several singles from 1959 under the name 'Bob & Eddy.' Roloff also released music under various pseudonyms, including 'Die Colorados' with Rolf Simson and 'Die Blizzards' with Kai Warner.

In 1963, Roloff embarked on a solo career, adopting the stage name 'Ronny.' His cover of the American standard "Oh My Darling, Clementine," retitled "Oh My Darling Caroline," achieved chart success. Throughout the late 1960s, Roloff enjoyed further hits before retiring from performing in the 1970s to focus on composing and producing. He wrote songs for artists such as Mel Jersey and child star Heintje, including titles like "Ich bau dir ein Schloss" and "Schneeglöckchen im Februar."

Roloff's song "Sierra madre del sur," initially recorded in 1970, gained widespread popularity when the Zillertaler Schürzenjäger re-recorded it in 1987, leading to numerous covers by other artists. In 1981, Roloff performed "Hohe Tannen" on the ZDF television show Unsere schönsten volkstümlichen Lieder. He released a new album, "Stimme des Meeres," in 1984 before dedicating himself entirely to his Studio Nord Bremen. Wolfgang Roloff was laid to rest in the Walle cemetery in Bremen.
