Oleg Talipin
Oleg Evgenievich Talypin, born on May 28, 1929, in Leningrad, was a renowned Soviet and Russian bassoon player. Talypin was primarily associated with the classical genre, focusing on the Baroque musical period. Throughout his career, he was known for his work in concerto styles and was a member of the Kirov Orchestra. His notable contributions include performances on the bassoon for recordings such as Shostakovich's "The Complete Symphonies" and "Symphony No. 7 'Leningrad'" with the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Mariss Jansons. Talypin's discography includes collaborations on albums featuring works by V.A. Mozart, I.H. Bach, and A. Vivaldi, showcasing his expertise in bassoon concertos with orchestras such as the Leningrad Chamber Orchestra. He passed away on December 10, 2019, in St. Petersburg at the age of 90.
