Art Lund, born Arthur Earl Lund Jr. on April 1, 1915, in Salt Lake City, Utah, was a prominent American baritone singer and actor. Initially gaining fame as a vocalist with bandleaders such as Benny Goodman and Harry James, Lund's career spanned jazz, pop, and Broadway. He began his musical journey with the Jimmy Joy Orchestra and later worked with notable musicians like Tex Beneke and Ray Charles.

Lund's solo career took off in 1946, highlighted by his 1947 hit "Mam'selle," which topped the U.S. Billboard chart and earned a gold disc. Other notable songs included "(I'd Like to Get You on a) Slow Boat to China" and "Peg o' My Heart." Transitioning to Broadway, Lund starred in productions like "The Most Happy Fella" (1956) and "Destry Rides Again" (1959).

In film, Lund appeared in titles such as "The Molly Maguires" (1970) and "Black Caesar" (1973). He also ventured into television, featuring in the series "Gunsmoke" and recording the theme for "Branded" in 1965.

Lund was married twice, first to Kathleen Virginia Bolanz-Lund until her tragic death in 1969, and later to Janet Burris Chytraus. He passed away on May 31, 1990, in Holladay, Utah, at the age of 75. Lund's contributions to music and acting were recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
