Alexei Massarsky
Alexei Massarsky, born in 1965 into a family of musicians, is a distinguished cellist and Honoured Artist of Russia. He completed his studies at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory in 1990 under the tutelage of Professor Anatoly Nikitin, a renowned figure in the globally acclaimed St. Petersburg cello school. Massarsky has been a faculty member at the Conservatory since his graduation, nurturing many students who have gone on to win international competitions and succeed as soloists, chamber musicians, and orchestral artists.

Massarsky's career as a performer began in 1987, and he has since graced stages across Russia and the world, known for his extensive repertoire, virtuosic brilliance, and expressive sound. He has participated in numerous international festivals in countries such as Japan, the USA, South Korea, and various European nations. His collaborations include performances with eminent musicians like Mariss Jansons, Martha Argerich, and Zakhar Bron, among others.

As a soloist, Massarsky has performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Deutsche Radio Orchester, Opernhaus Zürich, and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic. He has also recorded over ten CDs, both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles. In recognition of his contributions to music, he was awarded the title of Honoured Artist of Russia in 2004.
