The Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra, based in Moscow, Russia, is one of the world's most prestigious symphony orchestras, with a history dating back to its origins in 1776. Initially formed as an ensemble of 13 musicians accompanying singers in Moscow's first permanent theatrical troupe, the orchestra has grown significantly over the centuries.
