Elisso Bolkvadze
Elisso Bolkvadze, born on January 2, 1967, in Tbilisi, Georgia, is a renowned Georgian classical pianist. She began her musical studies at the age of four and performed her first concert with an orchestra at seven. Bolkvadze studied at a special music school for gifted children in Tbilisi and continued her education at the Tbilisi Conservatory under Professor Tengiz Amirejibi. She also attended master classes with Professor Tatiana Nikolayeva in Moscow and later studied with Michel Sogny in France and Austria.

Throughout her career, Bolkvadze has achieved recognition in several international piano competitions, including the Vianna da Motta International Music Competition in Lisbon, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in the United States, and the Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition in Paris. She has performed in prestigious concert halls worldwide, such as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Salle Pleyel, and Wiener Konzerthaus, and has collaborated with numerous international orchestras.

Bolkvadze has been honored with several awards, including the Order of Arts and Literature by France and the Medal of Honor of the Georgian Government. In 2015, she was named a UNESCO Artist for Peace. She is also the founder and artistic director of the Batumi Black Sea Music and Art Festival in Georgia, promoting musical creativity and cultural dialogue.

In addition to her musical career, Bolkvadze has been active in politics, serving as a member of the Parliament of Georgia since 2020 and as the Minister of Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara since 2025. Her work with UNESCO focuses on the education and social reintegration of children in armed conflict situations.
