Nacio Herb Brown
Nacio Herb Brown, born Ignacio Herbert Brown in 1896, was a prominent American composer known for his significant contributions to Hollywood film music. He began his songwriting career in 1928, frequently collaborating with lyricist Arthur Freed. This partnership proved to be highly successful, especially when Freed transitioned to a producer role for musical films. Together, they created numerous memorable songs that became integral to the scores of classic films, most notably "Singin' in the Rain." Brown's compositions include popular songs such as "The Wedding of the Painted Doll," "Broadway Rhythm," "You Were Meant for Me," "Broadway Melody," "All I Do Is Dream of You," "Beautiful Girl," "Would You?," "Make ’Em Laugh," and "Should I?" His work has left a lasting legacy in the world of musical cinema. Nacio Herb Brown passed away in 1964.
