Jerome Kern
Jerome David Kern (January 27, 1885 – November 11, 1945) was an American composer renowned for his contributions to musical theatre and popular music. As a pivotal figure in early 20th-century theatre composition, Kern crafted over 700 songs, many of which became timeless classics. His notable works include "Ol' Man River," "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man," "A Fine Romance," "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "The Song Is You," "All the Things You Are," "The Way You Look Tonight," and "Long Ago (and Far Away)." His compositions have been widely adapted by jazz musicians, turning them into standard tunes. Kern was also instrumental in creating numerous Broadway musicals and Hollywood productions.
