Arno Flor
Arno Flor, born on October 31, 1925, in Berlin, Germany, was a distinguished German composer, arranger, conductor, and guitarist. He passed away on November 20, 2008, in Baden-Baden, Germany. Flor, also known by pseudonyms such as Addy Flor and Addi Flor, studied music in Berlin and began his professional career in 1948 as a guitarist, arranger, and conductor with Werner Müller's RIAS Dance Orchestra.

By 1954, he transitioned to freelance work, collaborating with notable figures like Franz Thon, Erwin Lehn, and Robert Stolz. In the 1960s, Flor arranged parts of the film music for various Karl May films for Martin Böttcher. He also worked as an orchestra conductor, accompanying numerous well-known artists including Alexandra, Heidi Brühl, and Vicky Leandros.

In the 1970s, Flor founded his own dance and entertainment orchestra, recording several albums using the quadrophonic Q-Matrix method. He had a penchant for working on classical themes by composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, and Verdi. Flor's discography includes works like "Big Band Europe Presents the Great Songs of Europe" (1965) and "Verdi Wonderland 'The Hits of Giuseppe Verdi for Dancing'" (before 1980).

His contributions to music were recognized when he won 3rd prize in the ARD entertainment music competition in 1981. Flor's legacy is preserved through his recordings and the influence he had on the orchestral and film music landscape in Germany.
