Tina Turner
Tina Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Brownsville, Tennessee, was an American-born singer, songwriter, actress, and author, renowned as the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll." She rose to fame in the 1960s as the lead vocalist of the Ike & Tina Turner duo, known for their dynamic live performances. After enduring years of marital abuse, she left Ike Turner in 1976 and launched a successful solo career. Her 1984 album "Private Dancer" marked a major comeback, featuring the hit "What's Love Got to Do with It," which won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and became her only number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

Turner's solo career was marked by numerous hits, including "Better Be Good to Me," "Private Dancer," "We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)," and "The Best." Her Break Every Rule World Tour set a Guinness World Record for the largest paying audience for a concert at the time. She continued to achieve significant success with her Wildest Dreams Tour and Twenty Four Seven Tour. In 2009, she retired from performing after completing the Tina!: 50th Anniversary Tour.

In addition to her music career, Turner appeared in films such as "Tommy" (1975), "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" (1985), and "Last Action Hero" (1993). Her life story was depicted in the biographical film "What's Love Got to Do with It" (1993) and the jukebox musical "Tina" (2018). She received 12 Grammy Awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Turner became a Swiss citizen in 2013 and relinquished her U.S. citizenship. She passed away on May 24, 2023, in Küsnacht, Switzerland, leaving behind a legacy as one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide.
